Upon arrival in Istanbul, we will drive to Safranbolu. Lunch will be served at local restaurant. Safranbolu, a small, intimate town built around a sinkhole that has been emptied of its mineral contents. The city, most of which is under historic preservation, is almost like an open-air museum for 19th-century Ottoman architecture. Visit old Ottoman houses and sample delicious Safranbolu lokum. Thereafter, transfer to hotel for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, depart for Ankara, Turkey’s capital. Visit Ataturk Mausoleum, the final resting place of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, known as the “Father of Modern Turkey”. The mausoleum features a mix of different architectural styles from various Anatolian civilizations. Later after lunch, enjoy a scenic drive to Cappadocia.

Cappadocia, which boasts a unique landscape sculpted by wind, sun, rain and snow. Its bizarrely shaped pillars, cones and ‘fairy chimneys’ make fantastic spots for snapshots. Explore the Underground City, one of the largest underground cities there, said to have existed since the Hittite period. You will get a chance to see bedrooms, kitchens, dining halls, wine cellars, chapels, stables and more. Goreme Open-Air Museum is a compound comprising 29 rock-cut churches with some even dating back to the 6th century and decorated with beautiful frescoes depicting Bible stories. Proceed to Uchisar, an old village of small dwellings carved into massive rocks. If time permits, you can visit one of the homes in the contemporary village and experience life ‘on the rocks’. Make photo stops at Valley of the Birds and Uchisar Castle, where you can capture panoramic views of the beautiful plateaus.

Today, you will Travel from Cappadocia to Antalya, a Turkish resort city along the Mediterranean coast of Southern Turkey and the largest outside the Aegean Region. Antalya is known as “Turquoise Coast” where the water shines brightly reflecting the turquoise colour. Enroute with a visit the Aspendos and explore the well-preserved ancient Roman Theatre of Aspendos, during the GrecoRoman period where it was built in 155 AD.

This morning, start your day with a visit to Kursunlu Waterfall, an 18-meters tall waterfall that forms seven small lakes. It is also one of the tributaries to Aksu River. The Waterfall and its surroundings were declared as a nature park by the Ministry of Environment and Forest of Turkey on May 1991. Next, proceed to Kayakoy, an abandoned village in the southwest of Turkey, with more than 500 houses remains as ruins at were evacuated by residence in 1923 and serves as a museum and historical monument. After breakfast, embark on a river cruise along Azmak River which has its water flows out from the nearby mountains into the river. Relax yourself while enjoying the scenery covered by eucalyptus trees filling every scent of fragrance surrounding the air. Continue to Mausoleum at Halicarnassus also known as Tomb of Mausolus built between 353 to 350 BC. It is named as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World due to its aesthetic triumph. Next, proceed to Bodrum where you will visit the Bodrum Castle, an historical fortification built from 1402 and was completed in the late 15th century. Visit the mosque in the castle which was first built as a chapel and converted with having a minaret erected by the Ottoman Empire.

This morning, visit Ruins of Troy. Be greeted by a huge replica of a wooden Trojan horse, a vivid reminder of the ancient Trojan War. Thereafter, return to Istanbul. Later shop 500-year-old Grand Bazaar, a maze of over 4,000 stalls and shops selling leather goods, jewellery, handicrafts, ceramics, Turkish coffee and other local products.

Embark on your city tour with visit to the Blue Mosque, also known as “Mosque of Sultan Ahmet”, which boasts a unique feature of six minarets. View its interior decoration and distinctive blue tiles. Next, view the only remains of Hippodrome of Constantinople, which are made up of 3 monumental columns and a fountain. This is where chariot races used to take place. After lunch, visit Topkapi Palace, once the seat of the Ottoman Empire. Today, it is a museum palace with a wide collection of porcelain, antiques, holy relics and other treasures. Hagia Sophia is your next stop, formally a church during the Byzantine period, converted to a mosque in 1453, and now a museum mosque.
