Assemble at Singapore Changi Airport for your flight to Kunming, capital city and the transportation hub for Yunnan province, of Southern China. The city is also known as the “Spring City” and is the home to almost two third of the ethnic minority groups of China. Upon arrival, proceed to the hotel for your rejuvenating night’s rest.

After breakfast, proceed to visit the Stone Forest Scenic Area, a notable set of limestone formations located in the province of Yunnan. The Stone Forest area was a shallow sea some 270 million years ago. The rock formation uplifted the region with exposure to wind and running water shaped these limestone pillars. These formations extend as far as the eye can see, looking like a vast forest of stone, hence the name "The Stone Forest". It was listed as UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site in 2007. Next, proceed to Dianchi Lake, also known Lake Dian or Kunming Lake. It is the eighth largest lake of China and the largest in Yunnan province and has a nickname of “Sparkling Pearl Embedded in a Highland.” The lake was also the model for the Kunming Lake in the Summer Palace in Beijing. Thereafter, proceed back to Kunming where visit the Yongning Mosque, built in the Yuan Dynasty, and has a history of more than 700 years. It is the earliest mosque in Yunnan Province.

Day 3

This morning, bid farewell to the capital city where you will take a scenic ride towards Dali, an economic city and cultural center of Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture. The city history stretches back to the kingdom of Nanzhao during the 8th century AD and situated on the shores of Erhai Lake. Upon arrival, visit Dali Ancient Town, a historic town with rich culture. Have a stroll along the old town and explore the city gates, old towers, old streets, temples, churches, museums, shops and many more. After which, view the magnificent Er Lake also known as Erhai. During the Han to Tang dynasty, there was an ancient ethnic named Kunming Yi or Kunming Barbarian lived in the neighboring region of Erhai lake.

Today, start your day with a visit to the houses of Bai minority people in Xizhou Village. The village with a history of more than 1000 years, is located north of Dali Old Town leaning on Cangshan Mountain towards the west of the town. The largest scale of Bai Residence architectures are well-preserved here with a total of over 100 Bai Residences built from Ming Dynasty which showed different eras’ characteristic. See how the make cheese and silver ware backdated to the Mongol Empire during the Yuan Dynasty Period between 1271 to 1368. Next, continue your tour towards Lijiang, a prefecture-level city in the northwest of Yunnan Province. The city is famous for its UNESCO Heritage Site, the Old Town of Lijiang, which contains a mixture of different historical architecture styles and a complex, ancient water-supply system and considered as fairyland blessed with fresh air, clear streams, breath-taking snowy mountains and an undisturbed landscape inhabited by friendly Naxi People, one of China’s 55 minority ethnic groups. Upon arrival, visit Shuhe Ancient Town, the earliest habitation of the Naxi ancestors. It is also an important and well-preserved post of the Ancient Tea Horse Route, an international trade route in Southwest China that uses the horse as its main vehicle. In Naxi language, Shuhe means “a village at the foot of a peak.”

This morning, head over to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Scenic Area where you will view the magnificent Jade Dragon Snow Mountain also known as Mount Satseto in traditional Naxi language. The mountain range stands at 5596 meters above the sea level with its highest peak named “Shanzidou” and it is the tallest mountain in the region. Continue to Blue Moon Valley (Include Electric Tram ride), an extremely blue river meandering through a lush valley of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. The valley mainly composes of four large turquoise lakes and dozens of miniature white waterfalls. The incredible scenery in Blue Moon Valley makes the place a perfect spot to feast your eye. Thereafter, proceed to visit the Old Town of Lijiang, a well-preserved old city of ethnic minorities with brilliant culture. The central town of the Naxi Ethnic Minority located on the plateau which is 2,400 meters above the sea level. The old town looks like a big jade ink slab, therefore, it is also known as “The Town of Big Ink Slab” or Dayanzhen.

After breakfast, proceed to Black Dragon Pool known as Heilongtan. The popular pond located in the scenic area of Jade Spring Park and situated at the foot of Elephant Hill was built in 1737 during the Qing Dynasty. Walk across the white marble bridge to catch a glimpse of the natural mountain range surrounding the town. Next, take a scenic drive to Chuxiong city, the capital city of the Chuxiong prefecture and is well known for the “Yi” ethnical tribe. The “Yi” tribe is the largest minority tribe with long history of presence in the city. Visit the Yiren Ancient Town, a town built in 2005 which resulted from modernization with collision between ethnic culture of the “Yi” tribe, where it was integrated into the Yi dynamic museum of Chinese traditional architectural culture, regional folk culture and leisure culture. Thereafter, proceed back to Kunming.

Today, visit the Green Lake Park known as Cuihu Lake, established in the 20th century and the located on the western side of the Wuhua Mountain. It is also described as the “Jade in Kunming.” The park consists of about four small sub-lakes and four islands that are connected with elaborately decorated bridges. These are Mid-Lake Islet, Goldfish Islet, Bamboo Forest Islet, and Palm Islet. Each islet has its own unique delights on offer. Next, visit Shuncheng Street Mosque, the head quarter of

Islamic Association of Yunnan. It mosque was built in 1425 during the Ming Dynasty, the largest mosque in the city with Chinese architectural style surrounded by the local Muslim community. Thereafter, proceed to Guandu Ancient Town for some free time where you can try various of local snacks such as Rice Noodles, Stinky Tofu as well as food from Western Yunnan and Burmese food at Ah Bo’s Burmese Cuisine. The town is one of the birthplaces of Yunnan Culture, and one of the main historical and cultural landscape of Kunming tourism. As early as Nanzhao Dali Kingdom, It had already been a large market and important transportation hub at the north east lake bank of the Dian Lake. Guandu Town used to be a fishing village during Tang Dynasty. The ancient Guandu is an ideal place for appreciating the beauty of the Dian Lake.
