Assemble at Singapore Changi Airport for your flight to Amman, the capital of Jordan. Upon arrival, start your city tour at the Citadel, home to Temple of Hercules dating back to Roman and Byzantine times. Next, visit the Jordanian Folklore Museum to discover the traditional lifestyles of different cultures of Jordan.

Drive towards the north of Jordan to visit the ancient Roman city of Jerash, a close second to Petra on the list of favourite destinations and acknowledged as one of the best preserved sites in the world. See the Hadrian’s Arch which was built commemorate the visit of the Emperor Hadrian to Jerash in 129 AD, Hippodrome the massive arena for chariot races and Colonnaded Streets which paved with the original stones and the ruts worn by chariots are still visible. Proceed to Aljun to visit the Ajlun Castle, 12th century castle built by one of Saladin’s lieutenants in the campaign against the crusaders.

After breakfast head to Madaba the city of Mosaics, which owes its popularity to a lavish mosaic map of the Holy Land that covers the floor of Greek Orthodox Church of St George. Thereafter, visit the Madaba Institute of Mosaic Art and Restoration where they train artisans in the art of making repairing and restoring mosaics. After lunch, proceed to Mount Nebo, the hill where the prophet Moses was said to have been granted a view of the Promised Land before he died. Admire the views of Jordan Valley, the ancient lands of Judah and Jericho and head inside Moses Memorial Church which displays a large number of beautiful mosaics. The Serpentine Cross stands outside the sanctuary is a symbolic of the brass serpent taken by Moses into the desert and the cross which Jesus was crucified upon. Continue to Petra, the lost city that was dated back to 3,000 years ago.

Take a short horseback ride to the entrance of the Siq, a narrow 1-kilometre long gorge which is flanked on either side by high cliffs. Walk through the Siq to arrive at the main entrance of beautiful city. Here, you will view Petra’s most spectacular monument, the Al-Khazneh, or the Treasury, which is considered one of the most elegant remnants of the ancient world. It is also thought to be the repository of innumerable treasures. Continue your walking tour along the street of facades, including Roman Theatre and Royal Court.

Today, travel to Wadi Rum, a desert of stunning beauty that was the setting for the epic film, “Lawrence of Arabia”. Enjoy a jeep safari which will take you around the dramatic wilderness to explore some of the best known sites. Continue to Dead Sea and have a floating experience in the seawater, as well as try the healthy mud treatment in the world’s largest natural spa.

Kerak Castle

After breakfast, travel to Karak which sits 900m above sea level and lies inside the walls of the old city where several strategic 7th century battles took place. Visit Karak Castle, a dark maze of stone-vaulted halls and passageways. The castle is an impressive insight into the architectural military genius of the crusaders. This evening, stroll down Rainbow Street, a street lined with quaint coffee shops and little artisan shops and enjoy spectacular views of downtown Amman.
